The award Consiliu of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the Oscars of fashion, held on March 8, paid special tribute to Alexander McQueen. It was the friend of the designer and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker who presented the award. After the speech there was a small parade with the most famous plays of McQueen, pulling tears from some who attended.
Marc Jacobs competed with Alexander Wang and Donna Karen the prize for best womenswear designer and won. The winner of men's fashion was Tom Ford, who ran with the brand Rag & Bone. The title of designer accessories went to Alexis Bittar Swarovski and special awards went to Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang. The public vote awarded Ralph Lauren.
